Handel K.C. Diggs, National Chairman Handel K.C. Diggs, National Chairman: He is passionate about faith, family, B.W. Harris and friends and is not overly rigid but structured. “I believe in setting goals and expectations and become very impatient when they are off course,” Diggs said. “I am a very good listener and reach for consensus.” Over the past years, Diggs has been partnering with chapters to formulate annual fundraising plans. He is founder of the “Bishop George D. Browne” awards program for the Tri-State chapter, which is in its seventh year. Mr. Diggs is a dual member of the Tri-State and Metro chapters. |

Darren Wilkins, 2nd Vice Chairman
Darren Wilkins, second vice chairman: The class of ’88 took pride in one of its members joining the leadership ranks. As second vice chairman for membership and public relations, Wilkins will assist the chairperson in presiding over the affairs of the association and will assume the duties of the chairperson in event of the death, resignation, absence, or impeachment of the chairperson and the first vice-chairperson for programs. He shall also be responsible for maintenance of membership lists and promoting the growth of the membership as well as all public relations. Wilkins currently lives in Lehigh Acres, Fla., likes to play golf, basketball, watch movies and read books especially those written by Tom Clancy. |

Stephen
Taylor, Treasurer Stephen Taylor, treasurer. The Midwest chapter did a marvelous job as hosts this year and two of their members was elected as treasurer and financial secretary. Stephen Taylor who was elected treasurer, said his position gives him authority over financial matters of the association. It involves co-signing with the chairperson and the Executive Secretary for disbursement of all funds. He said his job is also to maintain a general ledger or spreadsheet and provide a quarterly income statement to the executive board. His other duties include receiving and promptly depositing all association monies in an account or accounts at a responsible bank or trust company. Taylor is also responsible to make an annual financial report to the convention, prepare an operational budget based on annual dues to the convention and shall assume other duties assigned by the convention and the executive board. |
Famatta Zeon, Executive secretary
Famatta Hansford Zeon, secretary. Not one, but two Hansfords were elected to leadership positions. Zeon’s role as secretary of the national body includes storing and keeping records that relate to the organization. She also makes certain that accurate information is kept on a day-to-day basis and also establishes means of effectively communicating to the rest of the team. Her targeted goal is to effectively enhance communication within the organization and believes that can be accomplished with the support of all Spartans A true Spartan, Zeon takes pride to say she is a devoted Christian and a happily married woman with a loving husband and daughter. Her beliefs are centered around the attitude of faith and the choices one makes in life. |
